This game was so far from entertaining that the announcers spent a good deal of time talking about anything but the game. How much can they actually be expected to say when the game is 30 points out of hand and the team that is down is shooting as if the spirit of Andrew Wiggins is guarding them in addition to the players on the floor. (It doesn’t even matter how bad a defender Wiggins may or may not be because a stray streamer could guard the Jazz.)
The Utah Jazz are so bad that the local sports pundits are expecting the returns of Marvin Williams, Trey Burke and Brandon Rush to help boost the team to 25 or 30 wins. No one would be upset if you didn’t know who those guys were, but they will apparently save the Jazz from themselves.
In case you couldn’t guess, the Jazz are the front runners for the best chance at Wiggins or Jabari Parker. Though the team shouldn’t expect to get either – at one point last year, a different Utah team was a frontrunner for Parker. The Jazz have a goose egg in the win column and a lucky 7 in the loss column, which makes them the anti-Pacers. If the two teams meet on the court, it might just explode.
The only question is which team will… overlook, fall asleep on, underestimate… None of those really work. I guess the best question is which team will lose to the Jazz even if there doesn’t appear to be a reason for any team to lose to Utah. The Jazz face Denver (1 and 4), New Orleans (3 and 3) and the Spurs (5 and 1) over the next three games.
Sacramento couldn’t stick with the Blazers, and it wasn’t even close. With one win and five losses, the Kings are looking to give the Jazz a run for their money, or rather for the cap space that they have because they don’t have anyone worth paying at this point.
There are a slew of teams with four in the loss column.
The Celtics beat the Heat for their third win in a row. The Leprechaun must not think that much of Wiggins.
